The next big J24 event is the Asia Pacific Mid Winter championship in Adelaide with over 24 entries including 3 overseas entries from Japan, Korea and Singapore. Event coming up
Gosford Classic Championship 2nd to 5th October 2009
The long weekend in October is the biggest weekend in our racing calendar, where we will take 5 J24s to race in the J24 Gosford Classic weekend. We will all stay in Terrigal for a fun weekend of racing and partying and you can join a team as long as you complete the C3 Spinnaker course. Book early as this fantastic weekend always sells out fast. |
| Audi Winter Series |
Winter is the best time to sail on Sydney Harbour - the wind has been good and we are in the Sydney Hobart Bar before 4 for the debriefing. We have started racing Kioni and Cadenza but still have some spaces left and will be racing every Sunday from now until 19 July. Join us for a winter filled with fantastic sailing and great partying too, you can start this weekend.
Race 4
Cadenza came second and stars in the sailing news. The crew rotated positions this week and were advised to take it easy as they were learning a new position. Take it easy, not the Cadenza Crew, excellent training by Instructors Gunnar and Tony and a magnificent crew helped Cadenza mow down most of the fleet, well done.

Race 5
Congratulations to our Kioni crew, 2nd this week. With only a few weeks of training the crew made us proud with another excellent result. Paula (‘hoppy’ was navigator with Damien on the helm. After some celebration Paula said that ‘today was the best days racing in eight years and we had the best crew’.

| Join us Racing North on Kioni |
The Audi Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race, starts on Sydney Harbour at 1.00pm, Saturday 25th July 2009. The race began in 1986 and has traditionally been the curtain opener for the winter northern racing circuit to Airlie Beach and Hamilton Island. We will be racing Kioni with a crew of 14. Traditionally the yachts follow a course close inshore to take advantage of the breezes and keep out of the south current. The finish is outside of Southport in Queensland a race of some 384nm.
We have spaces available if you wish to join the crew – but you will need to have completed C1 Set Sail, C2 Competent Crew, and C3 Spinnaker, C14 ISAF SSSC or have a similar sailing background. |
| Just for Fun at Airlie Beach Race Week |
After the Gold Coast race, Kioni will continue north, an opportunity for you to gain sea miles, and then race the Airlie Beach Race week, and even deliver the boat back to Sydney afterwards if you have time.
Race week is available to everyone at the school even if you have just started sailing. This is a week of fun in the sun in the Whitsundays. A day off in the middle for some snorkeling and after each day’s race join the presentation and party and back to the hotel overnight. |
| Let’s go on a Sailing Holiday |
Fancy sailing the Whitsundays or New Caledonia? Contact us for more details or these fantastic holidays sailing in idyllic locations with likeminded people to share the lobster and wine!
