Lots of Sailing, Safety and Fun!
For many years current Pacific Sailing School students have participated in the NSW State and Australian International J24 Nationals. In 2017 after twenty years of trying, we finally won the J24 Nationals.
After a year off, to allow the competition to recover, I have formulated a new plan… Let’s compete, and be competitive, at the 2023 International J24 World Championships with a crew comprised of current and/or past students.
That’s how confident I am in the training programs we offer and the quality of our staff. Whether you have just learned to sail, or have been sailing for a while, in a few months you could be selected* to compete at a World Championship event. Join me on an incredible sailing adventure and get an International J24 Regatta T-shirt.
Our J24 campaign starts with racing on Monday and Friday Twilights in Sydney Harbour. The highlight of the PSS calendar has always been the Gosford J24 regatta over the October long weekend. This match racing regatta is conducted on peaceful Brisbane Waters and is hosted by the Gosford Sailing Club. With the opportunity to help deliver the yachts to Gosford and two days of racing, this event always fills quickly and provides memories that last a lifetime. We will be continuing with our participation in the NSW State Championships and Australian National Championships held in Cronulla.
We are adding Port Stephen’s Race Week. The Race weeks include yachts of all sizes with separate divisions and prizes for the winners of each.
To be considered for selection for the World Team you will need to start planning now as you will need to compete in at least three regattas. Most regattas or Race weeks are hosted over weekends and shared accommodation is provided as part of the package.
Great wrap-up story on our J24 National Championship in January 2022 at Sandringham.
