Testimonial

Subject: Sailing

For a while, I had been keen to do some sailing, but my wife Janice had shown little enthusiasm. I researched the idea and decided catamaran sailing would most likely to appeal to her.

I found Pacific Sailing School offered a Competent Crew course on a Catamaran out of Sydney. Janice agreed to participate in this five days and four nights course to see if she would ever be interested in sailing with me ( she’d had almost no experience of sailing). We set sail onboard a Seawind 1160 Catamaran with 3 other student sailors and our instructor Brett Hodder.

We loved it and Janice was hooked on sailing. Our instructor was a patient teacher with a wonderful sense of humour. It was a fun time but Brett was always teaching. He included each person being mindful of their particular experience and skill level. He was patient and confident while students attempted new skills/ manoeuvres. Life onboard the Seawind 1160 was a fun time. While there was plenty of room on board for the six of us, we could see the boat could easily be managed by a couple.

The highlight for Janice was night sailing into Sydney Harbour identifying different lights /markers while the student Day Skippers navigated the way in.
We intend soon to do Pacific Sailing Schools Day Skipper Course with Brett on the Seawind 1260 and feel confident we’ll then be ready to pursue my( now our) sailing dream.

We highly recommend this course.
