RYA Day Skipper Monohull Pathway

Includes seamanship, navigation and pilotage skills necessary to skipper a yacht on short a coastal passage or hiring yachts in most sailing holiday destinations.
Start with our Keelboat courses on our International J24 yachts and then complete the RYA shore based and practical courses on our larger monohull yachts.

This course includes the following courses:

  • Keelboat Start Crewing Course
    • $715 4 x 3 hour lessons, a theory and social evening, twilight race
  • Keelboat Start Helming Course – 4 x 3 hour practical lessons
    • $715 4 x 3 hour lessons, a theory and social evening, twilight race
  • Keelboat Start Skippering Course – 2 x 6 hour days
    • $715 2 x 6 hour days
  • RYA Essential Navigation and Seamanship Course – Online theory (8-10 Hours)

  • RYA Day Skipper – Shore based theory (45 hours or 5 days i.of Theory + Exam)

ICC Assessment

ICC assessment cost is included in the 5 day practical assessment.
On successful completion of the RYA Day Skipper practical, ask about the ICC International Certificate of Competence. During the RYA Day Skipper practical course you will be assessed for your theory, sailing and seamanship skills. This is a pass or fail and a pass is the minimum requirement for the ICC.
