Dress for the weather, in casual gear. Shorts, leggings and t-shirt or long sleeve top are appropriate. A lightweight jacket is also advisable.
Bring a cap, sunscreen, sunglasses and soft-soled rubber shoes. Dunlop Volleys are available online or from Kmart or Big W and they have great grip. Please note, NO BLACK OR LEATHER SOLED SHOES.

Long hair should be securely tied back.
There are shower facilities at the CYCA that you are more than welcome to use before or after your lesson.
Practice Sessions
Practice sessions are offered after Keelboat courses. These are a great way to refresh, stay in touch with sailing or redo a lesson.
- Competent Crew, Harbour Crew, Harbour Skipper – unlimited sessions for 6 weeks after your last lesson
- Start Crewing and Start Helming – unlimited sessions for 2 weeks after your last lesson
All practice sessions are offered on a standby basis from our base at the CYCA. Call our office the day before to check availability and book in.
Club Facilities
Our Club, the CYCA, is a very friendly sailing club with a restaurant, outdoor balcony and shower facilities. The Deck is a great place to debrief with your crew after your lessons. We also encourage students who wish to continue sailing, to become members of the CYCA. Just ask Terry for an introduction.
