yachtmaster examination
During the Yachtmaster examination, you will be asked to demonstrate your boat handling, seamanship and navigation skills under power and sail in various conditions and situations by day and night. You will also be given several simulated safety and emergency scenarios to manage.
The RYA Yachtmaster Examiner will want to be satisfied with your practical skills on board, your theory knowledge, and your ability to manage the crew safely. The primary assessment is whether or not you are safe. Â
The RYA exam fee is payable to the examiner on the day and is additional to the cost of the preparation.
